UPDATE: Several participating breweries have been confirmed for this event since the announcement was originally posted in July. They have been added to the end of the announcement.
Industry S.O.S., a consultancy group with the goal to “encourage and assist the profitability of Toronto’s independent and locally-owned bars & restaurants”, will be holding a series of beer tasting events starting this fall under the banner name Independent Boast & Toast Series.
Members of the Ontario Craft Brewers and other independent brewers will appear at various pubs around the city, to offer samples and discuss the qualities and quirks of their particular brew. Hence, a Boast from the brewers and a Toast to the host pub.
The first event will take place on October 14, 2007 at Rowers Pub (150 Harbord Street). Attendees will enjoy a custom brew-paired tasting menu, a commemorative glass, and the chance to meet and discuss the brewing industry & process with some of Ontario’s hardest working and knowledgeable brewing professionals. Of course, the brewers will be offering samples of their beers throughout the event.
Tickets for the inaugural Independent Boast & Toast are $40, and will be available soon at Rower’s. The breweries in attendance at the event will include Denisons, Great Lakes, Wellington, Trafalgar and Nickel Brook.
