Abbot On The Hill (1276 Yonge Street) are holding a special beer dinner on Friday, February 22nd and Saturday, February 23rd to mark the birthday of Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor.
This notorious and colourful ruler influenced the world of beer with his unusual preference for beer over wine, uncommon for a medieval aristocrat. The Het Anker Brewery of Belgium has commemorated his life with the Gouden Carolus series of beers.
To mark the Emperor’s birthday (February 24th, 1500), Abbot On The Hill will be offering a 3-course Belgian prix fixe menu for $40.00, served with your choice of Gouden Carolus, Gouden Carolus Tripel or Gouden Carolus Ambrio.
Also – exclusive to the Abbot on the Hill is the grand daddy of all the Gouden Carolus beers, Cuvee Van De Keizer, which is brewed once a year on Charles the V birthday. Supplies of this beer are limited.
For more information or to make a reservation (required for the prix fixe menu), call (416) 920-9074.
