We’ve received the sad news that Toronto’s original Belgian eatery Café Brussel (124 Danforth Ave.) will be closing their doors for the final time on Saturday, May 27th. Café Brussel was one of the first restaurants in the city to feature Belgian beers, bringing them in as private imports before they were available via LCBO and import agents. They continue to offer many Belgian beers – not to mention hundreds of fine wines – to compliment their mussels, steak frites and other traditional bistro dishes.
A loving tribute to Café Brussel has been posted by local blogger Steve Munro – you can read it here. They will most definately be missed.
