You might expect the number and frequency of beer events to slow down now that the summer is almost over, but that’s definitely not the case, as there are several dinners, tastings and other events on the horizon. Here’s a quick run-down of a few of them:
Wednesday, September 9th
Allagash Brewing Beer Dinner

This dinner will feature six courses and seven beers, and Rob Tod of Allagash Brewing of Maine will be in attendance to present the beers.

Tutored Tastings of Classic Beer Styles
Black Creek Historic Brewery, Black Creek Pioneer Village, 1000 Murray Ross Parkway

Tutored tasting led by beer expert Mirella Amato. Sample and compare classic beer styles, discover their origins and different brewing techniques, enjoy tasty snacks with the different beer varieties, and experience a working historical brewery and see what you are drinking.

A Night at the Brewery
Black Creek Historic Brewery, Black Creek Pioneer Village, 1000 Murray Ross Parkway

An entertaining evening including fine food and craft beers at a fully operational recreation of an 1860s Ontario brewery. Guests will interact with colourful historical characters, join a lively a tour of the historic Mill and Brewery, and enjoy a delicious three-course meal prepared from locally sourced ingredients. Each course is paired with a selected craft beer. Enjoy Black Creek Beer samples and homemade root chips throughout the evening.

Düsseldorf Altbierfest
Fermenting Cellar in the Distillery District, 55 Mill Street

Presented by the Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The featured beer for the evening will be Frankenheim Alt, which is being imported especially for the event. Admission includes live entertainment, sausage with sauerkraut, breads & dips, and 5 beer tickets.

Evening With a Brewer: Jon Conquer
The Rhino Bar & Grill, 1249 Queen Street West

Jon worked at the Kawartha Lakes Brewery for a number of years before starting up at the Publican House brewery in Peterborough. Jon will discuss how knowledge, creativity and hard work all contribute to his success at these breweries. Presented by the Canadian Amateur Brewers Association.

The Bar & Bench
Campbell House Museum, 160 Queen Street West

Benefit event for The Canadian Athletes Now Fund, a non-for-profit organization devoted solely to raising money and awareness for Canada’s amateur athletes, featuring rare British beers imported especially for the event, along with fine wine and spirits, gourmet food by The Monk’s Table, live athletic performances and much more.
