Word has come out that The Strand – the bistro-style restaurant that opened a couple of years ago in the former Denison’s location at 75 Victoria St. – have severed their ties with Amsterdam Brewing and are awaiting the arrival of a new liquor license as they had to change from a brewpub designation to a regular restaurant. When the restaurant originally opened, it was announced that Amsterdam would be using the on-site brewing equipment to brew beers especially for the Strand, but this never happened. It is unknown if any of the regular Amsterdam beers will remain on tap under the new license, of if they will be changed to match the Strand’s more mainstream line-up of bottled beers which includes Heineken, Stella Artois, Corona & Coors Light.
