Great Lakes Brewery have announced that May’s edition of their monthly cask night Project X will have an “Island Fever” theme, and will celebrate the warm weather by featuring two refreshing cask-conditioned ales.

Taking place on Thursday, May 13, from 6:30 to 9:00 PM at the brewery (30 Queen Elizabeth Boulevard, Etobicoke), the event will feature the first ever Great Lakes raspberry ale, Rasta-Berry Wheat, along with a hopped up and orangified Hop A-Peel. And if the weather is as warm, they hope to have the courtyard and patio open.

A couple of weeks later on Saturday, May 29th, they’ll be hosting their 7th Annual Great Lakes BBQ from 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM, with proceeds from all beer sold in the brewery retail store and LCBOs across the province that day going to benefit the Gatehouse, a local centre for abused children.

This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with 4 cask-conditioned ales in addition to our year-round brands. There will also be live music, free food, fun and games for the kids, and a new this year: a Dunk Tank, where you”ll get your chance to dunk Great Lakes staff and anyone else who’s brave enough to taunt contestants.
