Grand River Brewing have some details to share about two events that they have coming up.
The first is on March 10th, and it’s the final a series of three beer tastings that have been held at the brewery this winter, with this one featuring Stouts and Porters. Included will be Hockley Stout along with brewer Andrew Kohnen, Black Oak Double Chocolate Cherry Stout with owner Ken Woods, Mad Anthony’s Old Fort Porter, New Holland ‘The Poet’ Oatmeal Stout and Michigan Brewing Imperial Russian Stout at a whopping 14.9% abv. Along with this will be Grand River brewmaster Rob Creighton’s usual historical musings about the development of the styles. This event is sold out, but Creighton says they hope to do more tasting nights in the future.
On Thursday, March 26th, Grand River is teaming up with the Golden Kiwi (15 Petty Place, Cambridge) for a beer pairing dinner. Chef Judie Owens will incorporate a number of Grand River beers including Curmudgeon IPA, Jubilation Spiced Ale and the new Russian Gun Imperial Stout into her food offerings, and each course will be matched to a beer. The cost is $45.00+taxes, and spots can be reserved at 519-622-3722.
