On Thursday, August 21st from 7:00 to 9:30 PM, Todmorden Mills Heritage Museum and Arts Centre (67 Pottery Road, east of the Bayview Extension, just west of Broadview Avenue) will present a tasting of local craft, artisanal and organic beers with food pairings.
In the 19th century, residents of Todmorden provided beer, lumber and paper for the growing city of Toronto. The Helliwell family established a successful brewery at the site in 1821. The Helliwell home and part of their brewery still remain at Todmorden Mills Museum.
Brewers participating in the tasting include Black Oak Brewery, Denison’s Brewing Company, Granite Brewery, Mill Street Brewery and Wellington Brewery, and food will be provided by Starfish Oysterbed and Grill and other purveyors.
Tickets for the tasting are $24, which includes 6 beer and food pairing samples and a complementary tasting glass. Additional pairings will be available for $2 each.
For more information or to reserve tickets with Visa or MasterCard, call 416-396-2819. Proceeds benefit historical interpretation and programming at Todmorden Mills Heritage Museum and Arts Centre.
